Hi, my name is Trista Kupaj

I'm a family photographer based in Inverell, NSW, drawn to the honest, playful, in-between moments that tell your story — especially the ones that happen right at home, in the middle of ordinary life.

Motherhood changed the way I see photographs. It made me realise just how quickly time slips by — how seasons shift, little hands grow, and everyday moments quietly become memories.

Some of my favourite childhood memories are of sitting with my grandparents, pulling out old photo albums and losing ourselves in the stories behind each image. I hope that one day my son, and his children after him, will have photographs they can hold, revisit, and relive in the same way. That's when my journey into photography truly began.

I'm drawn to the in-between moments — warm hugs, playful chaos, quiet glances, the sneaky smiles you didn't know were captured. While these moments can happen anywhere, there's something especially beautiful about photographing families in the place they know best —their home. The messy kitchen mornings, the pyjamas, the toys left mid-play. Nothing staged, nothing rushed — just your story, in the place where it actually happens.

Inspired by the nostalgic feeling of film, I love soft tones, rich grain, and timeless textures — I'm currently exploring 35mm film to bring an even more organic feel to each session.
